Legislative Action Committee Overview
TFA’s Legislative Action Committee works to persuade legislators and government leaders to protect your right to keep and bear arms.
TFA-LAC Political Action Committee – The Tennessee Firearms Association Legislative Action Committee is a separate entity from the Tennessee Firearms Association. TFA-LAC has been registered as a political action committee (PAC) in Tennessee since 1995. Contributions to the PAC are not tax deductible.
Generally, a PAC must report all contributions and expenditures. However, it only has to report detail (names, amounts and addresses) on contribution in excess of $100 per person per quarterly reporting period.
Help us Support Your Rights – Make a donation to the TFA-LAC, which is funded separately from the TFA. You may make donations to the TFA’s Political Action Committee via our secure server or by sending in a completed donation form with your payment.
Notice: Corporations/LLC’s cannot contribute to PAC’s but individuals can. I talked with the department of election registry about having “events” such as turkey shoots, sporting clays, etc., to raise money for the PAC. There is a procedure that can be followed to allow a gun club or other organization to sponsor such an event. Anyone interested in more information about conducting such an event, please feel free to contact us on how to proceed. This would be a great way to have your club or organization help fund the fight to protect our firearms rights and further our efforts at reform! Please give serious consideration to this need.
Legislative and Bill Updates – The TFA-LAC maintains on-line updates regarding the activity of the General Assembly on our Legislative Updates page. When available, these updates will include the text and/or summaries of pending Tennessee legislation.
Current Firearms Laws – The TFA-LAC also provides on-line access to current Tennessee Firearms Statues – Lexis relating to firearms.
