Tennessee Firearms Association announced the results of a statewide online poll conducted from June 17, 2026, through June 23, 2026, measuring participant preferences among candidates in the Tennessee August 2026 primary for Tennessee governor. The poll results were as follows:

Candidate / CategoryPartyPoll Result
Monty FrittsR46.72%

Marsha BlackburnR13.13%
Jerri GreenD3.03%

Carnita AtwaterD0.21%

Among poll participants, Monty Fritts received the highest level of support at 46.72%, followed by John Rose at 35.85% and Marsha Blackburn at 13.13%. Democrat candidates Jerri Green and Carnita Atwater received 3.03% and 0.21%, respectively. Other or independent preferences accounted for 1.06%.

Obviously, Tennessee voters who care about the right to keep and bear arms are paying close attention to the 2026 governor’s race particularly given the dismal failures on this issue by Governors Bill Haslam and Bill Lee. These results provide an early snapshot of candidate preference among those who participated in TFA’s statewide online preference poll.

The poll was conducted online, it was broadly distributed on social media and reflects the preferences of individuals who participated during the polling period. The results should be understood as a measure of participant preference and not as a formal scientific survey. The poll results should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any candidate but is intended merely to report the cumulative preferences as expressed by poll participants.
